Tampa Brand Photography Session: Meranda

‘Tis the season! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE this time of year. Even though it’s hot and sunny in Florida, we still try to enjoy and create moments that feel cozy and fun for the season. We have holiday movies on repeat, visit light shows and we even took the kids to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens a couple of times. They loved it!

Another fun way to create some holiday cheer is to decorate your home for the holidays! There are so many different styles, and I loved photographing Meranda’s home for her Instagram. She loves decorating her home for her family, and really goes all out for Christmas. Most of the furniture and home decor is from Kirkland’s, so we really focused on those details and the holiday farmhouse styling.

I also wanted to capture Meranda decorating and styling her home for the holidays to really create a personal touch for her brand. As content creators, we often want to hide behind our work, but it’s important to show our face every now and then! It humanizes your brand, and creates a personal connection with your audience.

Tips for shooting home decor for your blog

  • Focus on variety with your images. Shoot some wide angle and some up-close detail shots. Also, hop in some of the photos to show you styling and posing in the spaces. Switch up your outfits to save time, and keep the content flowing for your social media.

  • Choose a color palette and style. Do you like Midcentury Modern, Modern Farmhouse, Modern Luxury, Grand Millennial, Modern Boho? Choose a style and find furniture and decor brands who match. Do your research!

  • Decorate your home for different themes, seasons and holidays to keep your audience interested and attract brands. If decorating every space in your home is too overwhelming, start with one space and grow from there.

Marketing tips for bloggers

  • Pin your images to Pinterest. It is an image-focused search engine that can drive traffic to your blog, and grow your following/subscribers.

  • Shoot short videos of a before and after of your space for Instagram or a time-lapse of you styling it. With the rise of video content, it’s important to incorporate videos into your content.

  • Create a freebie to grow your e-mail list, such as “my favorite affordable home decor brands,” or “how to style your home for the holidays” or “how to plan a holiday party in your home” to grow a loyal following and see who is interested in your content.

  • Create a media kit to have on-hand when a brand reaches out for a partnership. Or pitch brands yourself!

  • Make a list of brands you frequently shop, and create a strategy to get on their radar and eventually pitch them for a collaboration. Tag them in your posts, talk about them on your platforms and show your styling work.

  • Join affiliate marketing platforms like LiketoKnowIt (now LTK). You can share with your audience where you bought your furniture and home decor and make a small commission every time they shop.

  • Visit your favorite brands in-store or on their website every now and then and show what’s in your cart or on your wishlist to create awareness with your audience about the brands.

Are you ready to create a solid marketing strategy for your blog? I’d love to work together. Join the waitlist for my new content strategy service launching in January 2022!
