How to Plan a Podcast Launch
Are you planning to launch a podcast? There are millions of podcasts launching everyday, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t! If you have something to say, and want to create a community of listeners, a podcast is a great way to go to start building your brand.
I also love that you don’t have to get dressed up to record a podcast. You can literally record your episodes with no makeup, hair in a messy bun and pajamas! There are visual podcasts, but you don’t need that to get started.
However, you do want to have branded visuals for your launch. Something to get people excited about the discussions you’ll be having, potential guest speakers and topics they may be interested in.
Not sure what type of visuals you need for the launch or ongoing content?
Here are some ideas to add to your shot list before your brand shoot:
Vlog style videos with a snippet of your podcast as the audio
Graphics with text and image placeholders for guests and episode titles
Photo of you with your podcast mic (sitting at a desk, standing at a desk, standing on a backdrop, sitting on a stool on a backdrop)
Your microphone sitting on a desk, table, stool or pretty chair
Props for your podcast launch shoot:
Podcast mic
Laptop
Phone
Notebook
Pen
Headphones
Try these Instagram content ideas to create buzz and grow your subscribers:
Who you are and why you started it
Announce your first episode and ask them to subscribe
Share a poll on episodes you’re thinking of doing next and ask them to choose their favorite one
Announce to your email list so they can know when new episodes are live
Ask them to submit questions for upcoming guests
Ask for reviews for a chance to be featured
Post discussion-starting topics in stories, your IG feed, threads, e-mail list, etc
