Clearwater Studio Brand Photoshoot: Emily

Are you planning g to launch an interior design business?

I was super excited to work with Emily on custom brand photos for her new business, Gulf Coast Dorms, where she’ll be offering interior design for dorms. Very unique and cool!

We transformed the studio into a dorm room, with a desk, bed and some cool statement rugs! I love interior design myself, so it was super fun to put this together from her moodboard.

We shot photos of her decorating the space, working at the computer and lifestyle headshots.

How to Use Your Brand Photos in Your Business Launch on Social Media

If you’re not sure what to say on social media when you’re first starting a business, try these tips:

First update your profile photo on all of your online platforms. Choose your favorite headshot from your brand photoshoot and use it consistently across your platforms for cohesiveness and brand recognition.

Create at least a week of posts using your new brand photos. Here are some content ideas:

  • An intro post. Use your favorite headshot of you looking at the camera to introduce yourself, share fun facts about you and why you started your business. Talk about who you want to serve, your core values, and what makes your offer unique. Encourage your audience to share a fun fact about them in the comments!

  • Create a reel of you planning, decorating and designing. Or a before and after of your work. Use one of your brand photos as the cover!

  • Create a value-add graphic to help your potential client think about how your unique offer will help them. For example, 3 Brands to Shop Affordable and Stylish Home Decor. Use a custom stock photo from your shoot in the graphic! Canva is a great tool for beautiful, on-brand graphics. I also offering Canva templates in my stock membership, ColorJoy Stock.

  • Share details about your service: What it is, what’s included and where they can go to inquire and book you. Use a detail shot of you doing the work in your business.

  • Answer frequently asked questions. The more you post about your business, the more you’ll start to get questions. Answer these in a post, or address concerns a potential client may have.

  • Share a testimonial. If you’re just starting a business, you more than likely have been offering this service to friends and family for free in the beginning. Ask them for detailed testimonials about your work. Not just “she was great”, encourage them to speak to specific things you did well for them. Video testimonials are even more powerful, if they’re comfortable doing so.

Include a call to action in every post. The goal is to direct your ideal clients to your website to inquire and book your services. But if you don’t direct them to your website, they may just like the post and keep scrolling, even if they’re interested!

Create a link tree for your link in bio (I recommend creating one on your website, rather than using a third-party service), to drive more traffic to your website), linking to your homepage, blog, services page and contact page. Create a specific call to action in your social media bio, to to increase conversions. For example, add Book your 2022 Dorm Design Session just above your link in your bio, so they know what to do!
