4 Brand Guidelines to Know Before Your Brand Shoot
Are you building a personal brand in 2024? Establishing a brand identity as an online business owner will allow you to connect with your ideal client and stand out in your niche. Creating cohesive brand visuals helps your marketing feel more authentic and relatable to your audience.
Establishing your brand’s identity starts with your guidelines. With anything you’re starting, you want to know what your goals and are for max success. Knowing these four details will allow you to communicate these goals and stay on brand, especially when you’re working with a branding professional, like a brand photographer to help you grow.
01. Your branding goals
What is your intention for your brand shoot? How do you plan to use the images in your marketing (ie. Website refresh, increase engagement on social media, how your e-mail list, increase your leads, etc)
02. Your ideal client
Who are you trying to reach with your marketing content? What are they passionate about? What is their lifestyle like? What commonalities do you have with them?
03. Your brand colors
Do research on colors, specifically the type of colors your clients are attracted to. What do they represent? Are they balanced? What type of emotion do they give off?
04. Your brand’s vibe
This is where it gets fun! What is your brand’s personality? Jot down descriptive words to describe it (ie. relatable, bold, spunky, attainable, luxurious, minimal, bright, calming, etc).
Once you know these details, you can look for visual inspiration that aligns with them. Also, you can stay on brand with each piece of content you create.
Knowing and communicating these details goes a long way when you’re working with a brand photographer. We can help you create a visual identity through photos when we know these.
Take some time this week or this weekend to do your research, jot down your brand guidelines, and keep them for your next brand shoot. You’ll be amazed at the results!
I did this before my last brand shoot, and it has helped me get so much clearer on my personal brand and even the edits I want to make to it.
